Phone calls and Advice

Our skilled pediatric staff is available from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and from 8:30 am until 12:00 noon on Saturdays.  When calling, please be prepared to give the nurse the following information:  Your name, your child's name (first and last), date of birth, symptoms, temperature, length of illness, and primary care physician.  If the problem requires your doctor's attention, the doctor will return your call at the earliest opportunity.

For non-emergent advice or information, please call mid to late morning or early to mid afternoon Monday through Friday when our phone lines are less busy.  Telephone calls after hours are for urgent problems only.  For emergencies at night, a doctor can be reached by calling our main number, (513)398-3900.

Insurance and Billing

We currently accept and file claims for over 30 health insurance plans in our region.  As a part of our contract with insurance companies requiring co-pays, we are required to collect your co-pay at the time of your visit.  If we are not under contract with your plan, we expect full payment at the time of the visit, and we will provide an encounter form for each visit with all information required by insurance carriers. This form, attached to the appropriate claim form, is then forwarded to the carrier by the family. The insurance carrier will reimburse you directly.

Payment is expected when services are rendered. Our office accepts cash, checks, Visa, Master Card, and bank debit cards. It is your responsibility to know the details of your plan, the benefits it provides, and the amount of your co-payment or deductible. If you have any questions regarding your insurance or bill, please contact our insurance office from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at 398-3900.

Office Hours and Appointments

We are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with appointments from 9:00 to 5:00. We are open on Saturdays from 8:30 to 12:00 for urgent same day appointments.

Our exams are by appointment only. Please call the phone number listed below during regular business hours to make an appointment with our physicians.

Phone (513) 398-3900

Fax (513) 398-4950

We encourage parents to call as early in the day as possible for ill visits. Please telephone the office to cancel a checkup appointment at least 24 hours in advance or an ill visit at least 2 hours in advance. This courtesy on your part allows other children to be seen. Our telephone number is 398-3900.

Referrals

If you are told by your insurance company or the specialist that you will need a referral, please call 398-3900 at least 48 hours ahead of time so that we may assist you in getting the proper background information to the specialist and the insurance company.  Many insurance companies will not allow back dated referrals. If the insurance company does not receive the primary care provider's referral in advance, they may deny the visit or pay the specialist at a lower rate. Please have your insurance card available for reference when you call.

Prescriptions

Prescription refills may be requested by contacting our office during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, and asking to speak to a nurse.  Please have the following information ready:  Your name, your child's name (first and last), a phone number where you can be reached, the name and strength of the medication to be refilled (the prescription number if available), and the name and location of your pharmacy.

Please give the office 24-48 hours to process the request.  For prescription refills of a controlled substance, i.e., Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall, etc., please allow 48-72 hours as these require written prescriptions by the primary physician, and have to be picked up at the office and signed for by a parent.

Hospital Privileges

If you are having a new baby at one of the region’s maternity hospitals, you should list our doctor’s name or Muddy Creek Pediatrics as the follow up Pediatrician when you are admitted to the  hospital. Your  newborn will then be seen and cared for by the attending Neonatologist while in the nursery.  The information concerning your baby’s hospital stay will be forwarded to our practice at the time of discharge.
